INTRO

Josiah and Doug welcome their special guest Keith Brown, who suffers from cerebral palsy. He joins today’s episode to discuss Roast Battles, in particular the battle between Nicole Becannon and Joe Eurell, who also has cerebral palsy.

HIP-HOP

Keith shares his favorite rappers from back in the day. Doug professes his distaste for 2Pac. Josiah shares his lousy attempt at a rap from the last episode.

TECHNOLOGY

Keith tells us all about his hobbies making robots and being a cerebral dad. We discuss robots, artificial intelligence, aliens, and if we are currently living in a simulation.

Doug boils AI down to one meaningless feature, that Giant Bonus Cards can communicate with your Draft Kings account==.

To close the segment, Doug shares a lovely anniversary story with us about the gift his wife bought him to celebrate their second year anniversary.

CEREBRAL PALSY

Keith shares his cerebral palsy story and Josiah and Doug try to relate to the restrictions placed on his life. We find out that Keith and Doug both stretch in the shower.

COMEDY

The main theme in today’s episode is comedians with physical disabilities. All comedians have mental disabilities, but today we listen to a few comedians with cerebral palsy and discuss their performances. The first is a Roast Battle between Nicole Becannon and Joe Eurell. Later in the show, we listen to a more traditional stand up routine from comedian Josh Blue, winner of 2006 Last Comic Standing who also suffers from cerebral palsy.

Clips from one of our favorite comedians George Carlin make there way onto the show again to highlight our discussion around God being the number one cause of all death and destruction in this world.

STORY TIME

Josiah shares some humorous stories about his best friend Cleveland and the great relationship they have had for the past 15 years.

Doug recalls a haunting story about the time he received a phone call at 3am from a mutual comedy friend of ours, Tyler Rothrock.

OPEN MIC

Doug shares a story about being heckled by his wife at one of his comedy performances and how he shot her the look of death. We then play that performance for our listeners, where Doug has the crowd in stitches throughout his entire set. Big laughs, as you would expect from the one and only Doug McHizzle.

IMPROV

We close the show with several improv games. We had a lot of fun playing them and we hope you have just as much fun listening.

The Job Interview

Doug gets interviewed for a job and accepts the position but then has to guess what position he was just hired for.

Paint or Pussy

Doug tries to defend his title as the champion of our favorite game. Josiah announces a name and Doug and Keith have to decide if that name is a paint color or a feminine hygiene scent.

The Operation

To close the show, Doug has an operation and tells us all about it. The thing is, he doesn’t know what operation he had, and it’s up to Keith and Josiah to steer him in the right direction. This is hilarious and you don’t want to miss it!

Technical Difficulties

INTRO

Josiah struggles with a caller and Doug shares with us the intimate and hilarious details about his vasectomy appointment.

COMEDY

Josiah and Doug discuss the new show by Norm Macdonald on Netflix called Norm Macdonald Has a Show. From there. we talk about our favorite talk show sidekicks, and hear a hilarious sound byte from Josiah’s favorite sidekick, Karl Pilkington.

Comedian Michelle Wolf gets an honorable mention and we play a clip of her lovely gig at the Correspondents Dinner in D.C.

Is Norm Macdonald gay? We play an incriminating clip, but maybe it’s a joke.

ENTERTAINMENT

Doug entertains the idea of sleeping with his favorite actress Halle Berry, while at the same time his wife fantasizes about Eminem.

HIP-HOP

Fantasizing about Eminem takes us into the very recent Rap Battle between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly. We play the track off Eminem’s new album Kamikaze that disses Machine Gun Kelly. Then we get to hear Machine Gun Kelly’s rebuttal, Rap Devil. And of course, Eminem comes back with his reply with a song called Kill Shot. This is Doug’s first time listening to this track and it’s very enjoyable.

Then Doug gives us a fabulous walk down hip-hop memory lane, recalling all the famous rap battles that he enjoyed listening to when he was growing up. He talks about MC SHAN, KRS ONE and Nelly, just to name a few. Lot’s of samples tracks get played, so have a listen. We hope you enjoy it.

Tittabawassee Road

FROM THE ARCHIVES

We recorded this episode in November, 2016 but never published it.  Right before Thanksgiving and just after the election we got together and recorded a 3 hour session.  A lot of our conversation dealt with Trump and the election and aftermath.

Although still relevant, I've cut all the Trump stuff out since it's a bit dated and I'm tired of hearing about Trump everyday.  What is left is just over an hour of our conversation which features a hilarious story by Josiah James about his trip to Saginaw, Michigan.

comedy

Josiah has a funny story about his trip to Saginaw Michigan where he was working on-site at a hotel that eerily resembled The Overlook Hotel from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Josiah and Ryan listen to Dave Chappelle's opening monologue from November, 2016 when he hosted SNL.  It was Dave's return to standup after being away for over a decade.

entertainment

Ryan talks about a look book that he was requested to put together for a tv show his pitching to Hollywood.  Josiah helps Ryan with the design and presentation in hopes that Hollywood gives it a pass.

technology

What's with the NOTE 7?  This device is so lethal you can't even bring it to airports.  Josiah talks about this and a girl he saw on the plane that he wished he was fortunate enough to sit next to.

GOOD HEADLINES

Josiah and Ryan close the show with Good Headlines.

Acute Angina

COMEDY

It's open mic week!  Josiah James and Ryan Rossell share their open mic performances from earlier in the week.  Josiah resurfaces some older material for his set and Ryan opens with a hilarious new bit about stage time, before crashing and burning with a Halloween bit (his words, not mine).

We were graced by a very unusual stand-up performance by a local hack comedian that went up on stage wearing a Peter Pan leotard.  We play a bit of the weirdest set ever and add our colorful commentary.

We also discuss the Barry Crimmins stand-up special 'Whatever Threatens You' that was released earlier in the month over on Louis C.K.'s website.  We review the hour special and play a few clips from Barry's performance.

ENTERTAINMENT

What do NFL players and dildo's have in common?  They're both better when they're black. We discuss the white dildo that was thrown onto the field during the Bills vs. Patriots game.

Josiah and Ryan discuss two very powerful short films that came out recently on Vimeo.  The first is The Present, by Jacob Frey.  The second one they discuss is Borrowed Time, a very profound and unusual animated short by some Pixar folks.

Halloween season has just left us and Josiah and Ryan discuss the movie Hush, which is available on Netflix.  This movie has maintained a 100% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes, and after watching it, it's evident why it is so liked.

Good Headlines are back this week and all of the hosts take turns reading some fake headlines.

CLOSER

Ryan closes the show with a classic joke about a slutty grandma...my favorite kind.

Night Shyamalan, Obama and Doritos Super Bowl commercials.  In Technology, they talk about David Lynch, John Malkovich, Squarespace and D.D.O.S. attacks.

Social Shout out to @SiriouslySusan, who just recently followed @jokesbyjo on Twitter.

COMEDY

Is Kevin Hart funny?  Josiah and Ryan discuss this question that popped up over on Reddit.
What's going on with professional teams that are named after Native Americans?  Ryan poses this question and the two hosts discuss.  Ryan shares a classic Native American joke and Josiah shares an original joke about his obsession with Native American porn.  Steven Wright gets a mention and Josiah and Ryan share their favorite Steven Wright jokes.

Ryan talks about the time he met Carrot Top, and the hosts discuss his style of prop comedy.

ENTERTAINMENT

Josiah shares a music video he wrote and directed called Obama Said Knock You Out.  Ryan and Josiah discuss the rap video and how it's still relevant in today's political climate.  With our current choices for the next President, Josiah suggests we should let Obama go a third round.

This political parody uses the instrumentals from LL Cool J's famous hit, 'Mama Said Knock You Out' to portray President Barack Obama rapping about how he's still the best candidate for presidency. Let's let him go three rounds and knock out the other lightweight contenders.

Josiah and Ryan share a project they collaborated on together for a Doritos Superbowl commercial contest that they still feel should have won them one million dollars and a contract at a major movie studio.

This is my submission to the Doritos 2013 Crash the Super Bowl contest. It was inspired by a real life cardinal that flies into my living room window every morning.

For those that are interested, you can view the short film that inspired this commercial called The Crazy Cardinal.

Is M. Night Shyamalan back?  Josiah and Ryan watch the new trailer for his latest film Split, and how this may be the proof in the pudding that he is back to making great films again.

TECHNOLOGY

Squarespace, David Lynch and John Malkovich collaborate on a new project and Josiah and Ryan share clips and discuss the new website playinglynch.com.  The site is a collaborative meditation on the work of David Lynch.

How fragile is the Internet?  Josiah and Ryan discuss the latest D.D.O.S. attack that targeted the DNS servers that brought down some of the most visited sites on the web.  Who was responsible?  How can we protect ourselves from future attacks?

CLOSER

Josiah and Ryan discuss their upcoming open mic performances and dating Amy Schumer.
Ryan closes the show with his favorite classic joke about 2 old men playing chess in a park.

TECHNOLOGY

Nintendo has a new console coming out next March, and Josiah and Ryan watch the promo video and discuss the new gaming console, aptly named "Switch".

CLOSER

Josiah shares an email that he received from his favorite comedian, Louie C.K.  Louie likes to write novels when he writes Josiah, so the closer for today's show is Josiah reading the entire email out loud for all the comedy fans out there.  It's certainly better than any of his dating stories.  To purchase Barry Crimmins stand up special, head on over to Louie's site and download it for $5 bucks.

Ryan has his revenge planned in the form of a children's book. Stay tuned for that to come out in the next decade. "Who knows if it will ever come out...".  Speaking of children's books, Josiah recommends Go the Fuck to Sleep.  And please check out Samuel L. Jackson narrating Go the Fuck to Sleep.
